To What End |
ll things are not cast in stone. The scheduled degrees have been postponed by a month to accommodate one of our candidates. In the mean time, several more men have petitioned to join us in our work.
These new additions will bring the number of candidates up to six men for the upcoming class. Please mark you calendars at home with the revised dates for the these degrees.
Until next time, may the blessings of Heaven rest upon us and all regular Masons.
Fraternally yours,
Richard Hunt, Wor. Master
John Fosdick and I represented Arcana Lodge at this years Annual Communication of the Grand Lodge of Minnesota on March 20th, in Duluth. Coming up at the end of April, Arcana Lodge is hosting the quarterly Hennepin Area Masters and Wardens Association Meeting. The theme for the evening will be membership, and the chairman of the Grand Lodge Membership Committee will make a presentation following the regular business meeting. Attendance by the voting members of the association (Master, Wardens and Deacons) is expected. All other lodge members are also welcome.
The Lodges of Instruction for the second and third degrees have been canceled. Hopefully, they can be rescheduled, otherwise I strongly recommend that each member of the upcoming degree teams attend a Lodge of Instruction in a neighboring district.
I would like to thank the companies and individuals for their contributions, and support of the Arcana Trestleboard. Please contact me if you are interested in contributing an article or financial support for this publication.
Fraternally yours,
Doug Roswold, Sr. Warden

While recently watching a "3 Ninjas" movie with my children, I saw something that reminded me of the tenants of our Lodge.
It seems as though the 3 youngster "ninjas" were concerned about their images and the possibility of becoming a hero. Their grandpa, a "ninjas teacher", told them to be like a flower and not to worry about being a hero.
The 3 young ninjas finally found out what their grandfather meant about the flower at the end of the movie. It turns out that the flower exists solely to exist, and by being beautiful the flower is beautiful.
Where am I going with this you might ask?
Well, the 3 ninjas are like us Masons. On the road of life they were concerned with their image and if they would be considered a hero. We Masons are on that same journey. Always conscious of our image and hoping that by our actions can become a hero in our community.
However, we differ in one respect. While their lesson was taught by a flower, we as Masons have the word of God and all the working tools of Masonry to help teach us the correct way of living. To always act on the level, stand upright, and interact squarely with all men.
This is our quest, and by learning these lessons we will become a hero to ourselves and our community.
